I pretty much can only use this in the room that its in or it cuts out. It has speaker on the stand and on the handset, you can record ringtones and many more things that I haven't tried yet.The problem comes in that this phone's range is really bad. So you can basically think of this a great wired phone without the hassle of getting tangled up in the cable.The battery is pretty good so far although its not a Lithium Ion so you have to be mindful of the battery "memory effect".In summary I gave this 3 stars but this would be a 5 star phone if it just had better range. I use this phone with my Magic Jack and it works well the sound is clear and people can hear me well. I'm very impressed with the phone's features. I went in the next room (which is only through one wall) and the signal totally dropped.
works for distance more than 30 feet.For people who are worried about proper functionality, setup, features etc etc.should download a user manual first from internet for free.read it and decide wheather it is right for you or not.For me it was.easy to use.good sound quality.battery life is good too.It can support multiple handsets too.I am satisfied with this one.
I got a ground line after I moved to a neighborhood with crappy cellular reception. Incoming audio sounds fine on both.
Now I have 6 times the Hz but the call quality drives folks crazy. I'm not going to get rid of Wifi in my house.
But people regularly complain that they can't understand me on the other end.I have a wireless router nearby which may be interfering with the phone. Otherwise, I'll just have to use a corded phone.It's sad that before cell phones I used to get excellent call quality with 900 MHz cordless phones.
I used to do all my calling on a cell phone. I bought this Uniden model at Target, along with one accessory handset.
DECT 6.0 systems are supposed to not suffer much interference from Wifi, so hopefully a new DECT 6.0 phone will solve my problems.
It feels good in the hand and on the ear. It's easy to use and it looks good. I really like this phone. The calls clear.
Nice features, including the Do Not Disturb if you don't want to hear the phone ring. Sound quality from the speaker is fair to good.
Longevity remains to be seen. The only two negatives for me would be that the unit seems flimsy due to the nearly all lightweight plastic construction and, in my opinion, the phone handset should be full size, since the only value I can see for a smaller cordless phone is for one that you carry with you when you travel.
Fairly compact on the desk. Worth a 5 rating at this point.
This review is for the Uniden TRU9485 after a little over two months of use. Answering machine has worked flawlessly.
These seem to be only minor drawbacks, though.
